My personal favorite is Traitor. I'm also a big fan of all of Zahn's books. Mostly his first trilogy.

Indeed!
The Thrawn Trilogy are the first books I ever read, and still are my favorite.
Best ever.
I don't get it. Everyone says they love Traitor. But I didn't find anything special about it.

I think it's because I'm a big Jacen Solo fan. It was also a rather emotional and dark book. Much like why so many people seem to enjoy Empire over the other movies.

Perhaps.. Probably why I love this new Dark Nest Tril. so much.... 'Cause I get Mara and Luke again. I've heard mostly because of Matthew Stover (if I remember right). He's a good author, but nothing special, in my opinion.

I'm not a big "Oh, Matt Stover is a great autor!" type. I liked Traitor and Shatterpoint was good, too. But I think he's best setting himself into one main character type of books. I liked the RotS novelization but his constantly jumping around and getting into the head of each and every character can be a bit distracting. So as long as he sticks to one main character, Jacen in Traitor and Mace in Shatterpoint he's ok.

Yeah, probably...
I'm still a big fan of Zahn and can't wait for his next one... on the Outbound Flight, to come out.

I will always love Zahn's books. He's a fantastic author. Best in the Star Wars EU, I feel. I just happen to like one of Stover's books over his. But like Lucas is Star Wars canon, I think Zahn is Star Wars EU. He has created some of the most memorable characters, Mara Jade, Talon Kardde, Thrawn, Pallaeon, the Noghri. When it comes to the authors you just can't beat Zahn. I hope he comes back to do more after Outbound Flight.

Actually I'm currently rereading Heir to the Empire and I've forgotten how good it was. I still prefer Traitor but there are some definate high points in this book. I just keep wanting to go back to it despite having read it 2 times before. I can't wait for my new copies of Dark Force Rising and The Last Command to arrive so I can reread them as well.
